Elisabeth and I have our dorm all set up and looking great. When anyone walks down our hall and pass our room, they stop and say how nicely we have it all decorated. I took pictures, so hopefully I shall post them some time soon! Right now it’s clean; hopefully it’ll stay thata way!

Classes start on Wendesday! I can’t wait! Oh, and guess what! The drama group here is going to do STATE FAIR! I am so excited!

We’ve been enjoying green beans, potatoes, lettuce, and  zucchini from our garden.  And there’s much more out there still!

Check out this cukucucmber  that’s been growing in our backyard. It measured 13 3/4 inches long! And it made into a  mighty good cukucucmber salad!

And besides pickle making; we have been making jams! Last week, we made blackberry and plum. My favorite! The blackberries were also from out back yard, and the plums from the trees at the dentist office.

Last week, my mom and my sister and I made pickles! And not just any kind of pickles, we made bread and butter refridgrator pickles. Yum! The kind we made takes two weeks to cure in the fridge. Ashley and I sliced up all the chumbers, Mom stuffed the jars andm filled them with the vingar, and I put the lids on and wiped the jars clean. Here are some pictures I took while we where making them.

Sorry it’s been a while since I last posted! I’ve been real busy the last two weeks packing for college, making a quilt for my dorm (of which I finished! I shall post pictures soon!), working out at the Hager’s farm, canning pickles, dilly beans, and making jams, among other things. I shall post a bit about what’s been going on these last few weeks of summer in the next few days, but for now, I’m going to enjoy the sound of waves while I edit pictures in the condo we are staying in.

Here’s the view! I took this at sunrise this morning.

Camping out at Birgade this year was so great! Anna, Elisabeth and I camped out Friday night, than Saturday night Anna, Laura, Eva and her daughter, Claire and I camped out. I got to say, this Birgade has got to be my best event yet! So many memories, for the last event before we all head off to college.  Here’s some highlights; hopefully, I’ll post pictures soon.

  • On Friday, Anna, Elisabeth, some of the fort staff and I set up our tent. It was great fun! We weren’t sure how it was supost to be, but once we got it up, it was great! Big, with lots of room for us to spread our things our and wiggle around.
  • After setting up our tent Friday, we went to cook some potatoes for dinner. We tried getting a fire to light for atleast a half hour. And it was mostly dark by then. So, after a while, we gave up and used Claire’s fire. And our potatoes turned out great!
  • We slept under lots o’ quilts. We were nice and tosty; espically Saturday night when the weather was warmer.
  • We made oatmeal for breakfast on Saturday. With blueberries. Yum. Gotta do that again next year!
  • Did quite a bit of sewing (And reading, giggling, and gosipiping) in the Factor’s House. Us young ladies got kicked out of the parlor mid afternoon, so we moved on into one of the bedrooms.
  • Heidi and Miceala from the Sewing Academy came up from Oregon for the weekend. It was so nice to have them with us!
  • We did alot of hauling of dishes, buckets and pitchers to the Clark’s house and back to our tent. Buckets are great for carrying dirty dishes! One nice little trip to the modern kitchen to wash dishes felt like cheating, but it made for quick dish-washing.
  • I got many compliments on my new dress. I totally am in love with it! Now, for the campfire smell to go way; it’s in all my clothes. =P
  • Anna and I put on a little shadow puppet show on Saturday night. First we did Cinderella. Than we did a spoof on Harry Potter and Twilight. lol.
  • Laura and I sucessfully made fires to cook our breakfast and lunch on on Sunday! We got pretty good at it too! We got to about getting one set in about 15 mins.
  • Lissa’s boy’s were so fun to have around! They are going so big and so fast! Lissa made some very cute little suits of linen for them and they love them!  We played games and ate lots of blueberries with them.
  •  The Rowan’s brought their horse, April; everyone just loved her! Monica and them hooked her up to thier little cart and road her onto the ferry, then to the fort on Friday; sound’s like fun!
  • Taking down camp was fun. A tent’s a wee bit easier to take down than it is to put up!

Over all, a very great weekend. What fun we had!

For your enjoyment, a teaser of my new dress!
