I know, it’s been a while since I posted! I’ve been so busy working out at the farm, doing two online summer classes, that I haven’t had much time to post anything. But did have a little bit of time to sew!

I was telling Anna G about the shorts I made; they are pretty cool! I actually made five pairs before I went down to visit Hannah in Cali (one pair was for her) and I’ve been wearing them every sunny summer day we get. All four pairs of mine are different, so hopefully I’ll get some of the others posted before I head back to school.

So, when summer started, I was having a hard time finding shorts (who doesn’t?) that weren’t too short, or too tight, and they had to be high waisted.  So, after a two different trips to Goodwill, I gave up and decided to make my own! The first pair I made were a little too big for me, so I gave them to Hannah (and oh, look, she posted them on her blog!). Than I made another pair. And another, and another, and I couldn’t stop.  =] I have another pair in the works right now too.

I can’t take all the credit for these cool vintage-y looking shorts! Anna Allen inspired me to make my own. Her shorts are pretty awesome.

Anyway, here’s one pair! I put sailor buttons on this pair. The denim I used for this pair is nice and light weight. Perfect for summer!  The pattern I have been using is Simplicity Pattern 2654. And of course I altered it a bit with each pair that I made.
