I have been busily sewing away costumes for *counts* six years now. (Wow! That’s a long time!) Looking back at my first creations, I laugh. My sewing has gone a long ways since I started sewing back in six grade!
I have quite a few favorite time periods that I have been into and sew. Mostly the Mid 19th Century (1850′s and 1860′s), the 1950′s and the Turn of the Century (1890′s). I also love the 1920′s, though I haven’t made much from then.
Last year, I was the Costume Mistress for my school’s musical production of “Anything Goes!” which takes place in the 1930′s and I was also the Costume Mistress for “Bye Bye Birdie” the year before last(1950′s). I shall again be the costume mistress for our next spring play (my last one of my high school career! *sob*) “Seussical The Musical”!
