Or Egytian Cotton at JoAnns?

Erg! That makes me mad! I need either or to line my new wool dress!

Well, atleast I got some thread for both my sheer,  my wool dress, and the silk apron for Lissa. I think I may just start rutching the trim for my wool as now I have thread to do so. Though, I probaby should work on my report that I haven’t even started for school. =P

I used some dye remover and now my fabric is the perfect color! Now I won’t look like a giant orange!

And while the dye remover was doing its thing, I drafted the pattern for the bodice, so now I am ready to have at it! Knowing me, I probably won’t want to make a muslin, even though should. =P Last time I didn’t make a muslin was on my gray sheer and that dress is my all time favorite. And another time I didn’t make a muslin was on my light green wool and now the armcycles are too tight. (yeah, I still need to fix that dress too).

But before I cut the dress out, I gotta iron the fabric. As you can tell from the picture, it is very wrinkly!

I was going to dye the fabric for my golden yellow sheer dress yesterday, but after I had the fabric ready and was about to get the dye all mixed up, I realized that I didn’t have any salt, so I dyed the fabric today.

The fabric is just so dreamy-cotton voilefrom Dharma Trading Co. I ordered 10 yards of it, and it should take about 7 to make the dress so before I threw it in the dye, I cut three yards off so I can make some a white waist and some undersleeves and perhaps a collar or two.

It just came out of the dryer and it’s a wee bit too orange. =P I can’t believe I over dyed it. That has never happened, usually I under dye. Luckily, it didn’t do any streaking or spotting like on my gray sheer and a few other pieces I have dyed.

So, my choices now? Leave it as is, wash it with some dye remover, or wash it with a wee bit of bleach. I think I may go the dye remover route. I have a box so I may just use half of it and that my do the trick.

I am in love with the dress this girl is wearing in this painting dating from 1856 to 1859 by Sir John Everett Millais. A lovely golden yellow sheer fan front dress with sheer undersleeves. The painting is called “Apple Blossoms” (link here: http://www.the-athenaeum.org/art/detail.php?ID=5575 )
